WW2 Era Private Purchase Gas Mask Tin – Barringer of Mansfield
WW2 gas masks were issued to the general public in cardboard containers which were prone to damage and getting wet, entrepreneurial companies started manufacturing tin plate containers for the gas masks this one being made by Barringer, Wallis & Manners Ltd of Mansfield who when Googled have an interesting history all of their own. This tin which would have had a leather strap for carrying comes in well used condition, it is dented on the sides and the paint is worn, it measures 7.25 inches long.
