Cased Vintage Civil Defence Medal – Un named with Instructions
The Civil Defence Medal (CDM) is a long service award by the United Kingdom, instituted by Queen Elizabeth II in March 1961 and awarded for 15 years continuous service in a variety of different organisations including the Civil Defence Corps (CD), the Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS), the National Hospital Service Reserve . This example has not been named and comes mounted on its ribbon with two extra bits of ribbon and the original printed instructions for use and position of wear. The box was produced by the Royal Mint and is marked accordingly in the lid. The medal comes in very good condition, it has been worn and shows a little tarnish in places, the box is in good order with some staining to the silk in the lid.
