Mounted German Badges Brought Back From War.

Here is an interesting lot comprising of a wooden shield mounted with a 1930’s German Police Shako plate and what looks like the centre of the German Silver Cross. We purchased these recently from a lady who said her father brought them back from the war and she really didn’t want them in her house. The shako plate has some damage, weather this was done after it was mounted or it was found like this, I cannot say. There is a crack beside the swastika and the tip of the right wing is broken, also a piece missing from the top of the wing. The enamelled swastika seems to be in very good order. both items are quite heavily toned but I’m sure they will both polish up well if wished. The shield measures 7 x 8.5 inches.
