Scarce Victorian Manchester Regiment Collar Badge.

All white metal Sphinx, quite unlike any of the similar badges worn by other regiments. This one is much longer the Sphinx’s tail comes from between the back leg and the word ‘Egypt’ is well spaced out. This badge was used by OR’s from 1882 until 1897 and it was also issued for use on the new field service cap. This one is in very good condition with slight wear.
