WW2 Era Brass Gun Sight

I’m not sure to what this sight can be attached to, it is of a simple construction and is not maker marked, it has the cross hairs for sighting and both top and bottom screw off, the optics are ok but one end has a fault in the glass which slightly obscures the vision, it measures 13.25 inches long.
