1909 German Saxony 3 Mark Coin Award.
A 1909 Frederick August III of Saxony silver three Mark coin which has been made into an award to be worn on the front of the neck. Probably done during the first world war in the absence of any other medal to award good shot or behind the line competition. This coin was only minted from 1908 to 1913 so a scarce issued as a coin which would otherwise be in VF condition. It measures 1.25 inches in diameter. A very unusual stopgap award.
