Interesting Original WW1 German Portrait Photograph.
An original WW1 Era Photograph of a German NCO of the 64th (8th Brandenburg) Infantry regiment sporting his Iron cross 1st class and the 2nd class ribbon on his tunic.
The 64th formed part of the German III army corps and on mobilisation, III Corps was assigned to the 1st Army on the right wing of the forces for the Schlieffen Plan offensive in August 1914. It participated in the Battle of Mons and the First Battle of the Marne which marked the end of the German advances in 1914. Later, it participated in the Battle of Verdun and the Battle of Amiens (1918)
This Photo is in excellent condition and is postcard size.
