1913 German Battle of Leipzig Centenary Medal.
An interesting Saxon medal struck to commemorate the Battle of Leipzig in 1813. The Battle of Leipzig, also known as the Battle of the Nations, was fought from 16th to 19th October 1813 in Leipzig, Saxony. The Coalition armies of Austria, Prussia, Sweden, and Russia, led by Tsar Alexander I and Karl von Schwarzenberg, decisively defeated the Grande Armée of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte during the Napoleonic wars.
This one is in very good condition and on its original silk ribbon, although the ribbon is a bit scruffy. Medal 1.5 inches in diameter.
