WW1 Medal Pair to Nurse Mitchell V.A.D.

A WW1 British war and victory medal pair correctly named to Margaret Ann Eliza Mitchell of the Voluntary Aid Detachment. She lived at the Schoolhouse in the small village of Scotlandwell, near Fife in Scotland. She was serving with No 4 Kinross Voluntary Aid Detachment, British Red Cross Society and was sent to France for overseas service on 4th March 1918, just in time for the carnage of the German Spring offensive. As all Voluntary nurses were only to serve one year abroad, she came home on 29th April 1919. During her service she was awarded a scarlet efficiency stripe.
Her medals come with her boxed WW1 BRCS medal for war service, Red Cross badges and two photographs and a postcard, also copied research in the form of her medal index card, BRCS index cards and BRCS overseas service record. The medals are in perfect condition, and they come on long lengths of original ribbon.
