1815 Free Trade Anti-Corn Monopoly Medallion.
An historic large silvered base metal medallion struck to protest the Corn monopoly imposed by the British government, were tariffs on imported grain that protected domestic agriculture in Britain, this made the price of grain rise so ordinary people found it hard to afford bread, the main staple of the working classes, but were eventually it was repealed in favour of free trade.
This medallion is on very good condition with light wear to the high points. It measures just over 2 inches in diameter and has a hole at the 12 o clock position.
