Sir Robert Peel, University of Glasgow 1837.
A silvered base metal medallion struck to commemorate Sir Robert Peel, 2nd Baronet as Lord Rector of Glasgow University on January 11th 1837. This example given to each of the 3000 people who attended the great banquet in his honour. Peel was British Conservative statesman who was twice Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Chancellor of the Exchequer, twice Home Secretary and founder of the Metropolitan Police.
In good condition measuring 1.75 inches long.
