One of the musical instruments that were carried to the front, this is a Fife or small flute made of hard wood with white metal fittings. It comes in its original 1908 pattern brown leather case which is marked on the MGR 1916. It is in good working condition with signs of age and use. It measures 15 inches long. Case measures 10.5 inches long.
