Vintage Mercator K55K Folding Lock Knife.

A very sort after German pocketknife made by Kauffmann, Solingen. It is very simple construction with central back release button, which the company adopted around WW1. It has the trademark ‘Mercator’ on the back of the haft and on the blade. It is in good original condition, some of the original black paint still remains and the locking mechanism is good and firm although there is slight plat to the blade.
It measures 7.75 inches when open and 4.5 when closed.
