Imperial German Artillery Officers Sword.
A good untouched Imperial German Artillery officer’s sword with a brass hilt and languets. It has a very fine ray skin grip bound by twisted silver wire. It carries the makers mark of WKC Weyersberg Kirshbaum & Co, Solingen. You will have to take my work for it as it is almost impossible to photograph as it is situated on the ricasso under the Languet. The slightly curved blade is single fullered with traces of etching which decorates half the blade on both sides. The blade overall is nice and clean with a few surface rust spots, these look quite new, so they should be easy to clean off. No scabbard, which would have been made of plated steel.
A very nice example of this type of sword which was still being used through the first world war. It measures 39.5 inches long.
