Group of Four Pre WW1 Flight Based Postcards – Nulli Secundus
Here is a group of four Edwardian pre WW1 postcards one of which I found to be very interesting it features the Nulli Secundus the first British army Dirigible No1 semi-rigid airship, the first powered military aircraft, this card shows it in flight over London, it was first tested in September 1907 and in October was flown over London taking in the sights including St Pauls, due to return home it was grounded at Crystal Palace and subsequently ripped apart by high winds, the carcass was retrieved and re built as the Nulli Secundus II but was very quickly scrapped, so this card is a unique take on its early flights, the other 3 cards all feature aircraft over Salisbury plain, all come in good but aged condition and have not been written on.
