WW2 Era German Luftschutz Medal.
WW2 era service medal awarded to members of the German Luftschutz for four year’s service. known as the Air Warden Honour Award 2nd Class, it could also be awarded for bravery, but mostly for service to Fire Fighters, Police, Factory Guards / Fire Watchers, Anti-Aircraft Defence personnel etc. Members of the Luftschutz, for the most part were highly trained in air surveillance, radar in order to issue early warnings, black out duty, against gas attacks and also the use and maintance of anti aircraft weapons.
The Luftschutz medal was worn on the left breast pocket of the uniform and this one is a good clean example in excellent original condition in packet of issue.
