18th Century Small Sword with Folding Guard

A simple yet attractive 18th Century small sword. Typical light weight dress sword with a solid brass decorative hilt, which would have originally had a gilt finish, an hourglass shaped guard with one side hinged and folds up for comfortable wear, a wire bounded grip and a triangular or trefoil steel blade which terminates to a fine point.
This sword is in good order but missing its scabbard, which most are of this period, the blade is mostly good with some pitting to the metal towards the tip. it measures 37.25 inches long.
