Rare US Civil War Era Whiskey Flask.

A very rare 1860’s US Whisky / Water flask. It is a large glass flask covered with ratan with a heavy pewter spout and cap. I have found a few examples in the US included one in the John Baril Civil War Collection, which all describe them as Whisky flasks, but I’m sure they were probably intended for water, as the ratan cover would have kept the water nice and cool.
