WW1 South Wales Borderers Cap Badge. WW1 South Wales Borderers Cap Badge.

WW1 South Wales Borderers Cap Badge.

A lovely quality bi-metal badge used until 1958 when they wore the brigade badge. Due to its construction its dates from the early WW1 or pre-WW1 era. An interesting fact regarding this badge, the wreath of flowers in brass represents a vibrant, yellow Mediterranean herb known as the "everlasting flower" because it retains its colour and shape even when dried. Revered for longevity, it is historically know as "immortelles”. This emblem was granted by Queen Victoria after the battle of Isandlwana and Rorks’s Drift.
This badge is in excellent used condition and has a nice mellow tone.
