WW1 Dutch Artillery NCO’s Kepi
A 1912 / 16 pattern Kepi worn by an NCO or junior officer of the Dutch 6e Regiment Veldartillerie, or 6th Artillery Regiment. This is a Hoog or high model made of black wool with red piping, gold rank cord, bullion cockade and a leather covered peek.
During World War I, the Netherlands remained strictly neutral and did not engage in combat. Instead, it was fully mobilized as part of the Field Army to guard Dutch borders and enforce martial law in designated defence sectors. The 6th Artillery Regiment was an integral part of this effort, ensuring the country remained an armed neutral power.
This one is in good well used condition; it has several faults mainly due to wear, please see pictures. Although relatively scarce, this is a good academic example that displays well.
