WW1 Era German Pickelhaube Plate.

The field grey painted tin plate for the 22 Reserve Ersatz regiment. It was worn on the grey felt pickelhaube, the plate often survived but the helmet did not. This is in very good used condition.
The 22nd reserve infantry regiment were in the Gleiwitz and Kattowitz area, Upper Silesia, now Poland (from 1921). This was an industrial region and the 22nd Ersatz were mainly used for home guard duties during the war, although many men were later transferred to the front line.
