A good WW2 early issue of the German War Merit Cross with swords for combatants. Awarded to soldiers for exceptional service "not in direct connection with combat". Recipients had to win this grade of the award before being awarded the first-class medal.
This one is in very good original condition, and comes on a short length of original ribbon.
