WW1 Era Large Photo – Munitions Factory Protection Coy Paisley

A rare possibly unique large photograph of ‘the military guard officers of 202 protection Coy Royal Defence Corps’, below is a brief history of the munitions factory and much more is available online. On the back of the photo are the names of the officers so research can be done on them if desired, mounted on card the photo measures 11 inches x 9 and the mount is 15 x 12, it comes in good condition with signs of age and wear.
The National Filling Factory, Georgetown, was a First World War munitions factory situated near Houston in Renfrewshire, Scotland. It is believed that the Ministry of Munitions owned up to 12 filling factories; Georgetown was known as NFF.4
The factory was to be responsible for assembling 40,000 items of quick-firing ammunition and 200,000 lbs of breech-load cartridges on a weekly basis
