United States Korean War Era M1 Helmet. Named

A good US M1 Helmet shell with matt green textured finish including the rim. the shell has a painted decan at the back of sergeant’s stripes and the named ‘MAK’. It has a multi coloured, coated fibre liner with web and leather head support and swing bales. Inside there is a square of white paint which has been scratched off to read, ‘McKenzie D. 53947684. SS 2-12. I have had a look for this man, but as you can imagine there are a lot of McKenzie’s serving in the US army, so a little time is needed to track him down. US records are fantastic; they have just about everything available online. this helmet is in in exceptional condition with light wear and signs of use. However both chin straps are missing, but these are easy and reasonable inexpensive to obtain. A cracking piece for research.
