Vintage Queens Royal West Surrey Reg Trumpet Banner.

A beautifully made trumpet banner for the Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment. It is made of a ribbed silk with gold bullion border and tassels. It has the regimental badge embroidered on both sides with gold and silver bullion wire, silk thread and velvet. It displays the queens crown, which going on the condition and shape of the crown, it is the crown of Queen Elisabeth II post 1968. I cannot find another example, so this must have been made for a special event, the Queens coronation perhaps or a royal visit to the regiment. It has a metal rod sewen into the top so it stays perfectly unfurled. It is in superb condition it was stored in a frame, so there is three marks at the top on one side where it was attached to a backing board. It measures 17.5 x 16.5 inches.
