Rare QSA + 2 to Reverand Bronsgeest Chaplain to the Forces.

A rare Queens South Africa medal with the South Africa 02 and Orange Free State clasps correctly named to Rev E Bronsgeest C to F.
Edward Bronsgeest was born around 1848 in Germany, his parents were Dutch but their names and details are unknown. Prior to his military chaplaincy, he lived in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire. He enlisted in to the Army Chaplains department in 1901 and sent to South Africa. During the conflict, he ministered to troops in the field. For his service, he was awarded the Queen's South Africa Medal with two clasps (The medal was officially issued to him in November 1904.
After the war Reverend Bronsgeest returned to England, where he continued his religious ministry and community work back in Hertfordshire at the Holy Trinity Waltham Cross. He never married and died in Essex around 1926.
This medal is in very good condition, clasps attached correctly and suspender swivels nicely. It comes with copies of medal rolls confirming his clasps and census details.
