Superb 1854 Grenadier Guards Officers Sword. Major Miller

It has a pierced Gothic nickel-plated steel hilt displaying the Grenadier Guards regimental badge, ray skin grip bound with silver wire, a beautifully decorated blade, etched with King George V cypher and all of the regiments battle honours up to an including, those of the first world war. The blade is also etched with the initials P. W. M. this should be W.P.M as the sword was owned by major William Pit Miller of the Grenadier guards. (see medals)
It has the brass proof button and the makers details of Edward Smith of 5 Doyle Street, London, and it is in excellent condition with no loss to the nickel plating, which is currently unpolished. It has one small stain to the etching on the blade, which will probably clean off. It measures 40 inches long.
