Winterhilfswerk (WHW) was an annual winter donation drive that started during the 1930’s depression to distribute.
Food, clothing and fuel to the poor. Pin badges were sold to raise money for this fund and here is one of the less common porcelain badges sold. This was one of ten you could collect and include the different arms of the German military machine, in this instance a Mountain or Alpine Troops. It is in very good condition but has a little chip to the top of the ski’s with original pin on the back and measures 2 inches high.
