1930’s German Inner Mission Pin.

A light white metal pin for the German Inner Mission. This was one of several charitable organizations in Germany before the Nazis came to power and was of great help to veterans of the Franco-Prussian war and WW1.

Gilt and black enamelled membership pin of the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge or German War Graves Commission. This one probably dates from the 1920’s 30’s and comes in very good condition. 2.5 inches long.  read more

Small German gilded tin Winter Help badge with ‘Tuet Gutes Allen’ (do good to everyone) on the front. They were made to clip on the lapel to show support. This one in gold class is in excellent unused condition.  read more

WW2 German Merit Cross with Swords. Maker Marked

A good WW2 issue German war merit Cross with swords for combatants.
The ribbon of the War Merit Cross second Class could be worn like the ribbon of the Iron Cross second Class. Awarded to; soldiers for exceptional service "not in direct connection with combat". Recipients had to win this grade of the award before being awarded the first-class medal.

Victorian Indian Carved Wood Box – Oxfordshire 52nd Reg of Foot

My immediate thought was that this really well carved box was Chinese in origin but research shows the 52nd regiment had no connection to service in China but they did spend a lot of time in India and it turns out that India has a strong tradition of dragons so it is my assumption that this box came from a serving soldier from the 52nd Oxfordshire regiment of foot who spent time in India pre th...  read more

WW1 Dated 1918 French Trench Art 75mm Shell Case – Ada

This is a well decorated WW1 era trench art shell case, it is nicely marked on the base with MGM for the French manufacture general de munition, 75 DEC for the 75mm field gun along with 249L and 18BX. The body of the shell is decorated with leaves and the proud name of ‘Ada’ to the centre. It comes in very good condition and stands 13.75 inches high.  read more

Pair Early 20thC RNLI Marked Binoculars.

A rare find, a pair of superb quality binoculars by H H & Son Ltd of Liverpool. They are finished in black with eye cups and marked on one of the shrouds ‘Royal National Lifeboat Institution’. They are in very good condition, nice clear, clean lenses, leather neck strap and what looks to be a later brown leather case. 5x 5 inches.  read more
