2/3rd Scale Replica WW1 Fokker D VIII
An accurate 2/3rd scale replica of the WW1 Fokker D8, it was a German parasol-monoplane fighter aircraft designed by Reinhold Platz and built by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke and had the distinction of scoring the last aerial victory of the war.
This one was completely hand built during the 1980’s, taking years to build in relationship to the original. It is made of steel tubing and covered with canvas and painted in the aero camouflage lozenge pattern. It has an instrument panel inside the cockpit, replica machine guns on the front and replica engine. It is also fitted with a vintage single cylinder BSA engine, which will run the propeller. The tail rudder and elevators were fully working, but it is not known if the wire mechanism is still attached.
This incredible replica was displayed at an aircraft and aviation museum for many years and holds a British Aircraft Preservation order. It is totally unique and a remarkable piece of engineering that really needs seeing to be believed.
Please note. I am advertising this for the man who built it, a dear friend, so any interested parties can deal directly with him and view the aircraft. Just get in touch with me and we can arrange the necessary.
