Scarce WW2 German Kriegsmarine Pith Helmet Eagle.
A rare WW2 large gilt metal eagle worn by the German navy on the pith or tropical helmet. This one is in very good used condition, wear to the gilt wash in places and small area of Verdigris between one wing and on tip of beak. The back has some light Verdigris and is missing one of its brass prongs. It measures around 4.25 inches (108mm) wide. read more

A very good example of the EKII, which has a maker’s mark of IW on the suspender ring, for Iohann Wagner & Sohn of Berlin. WW1 issue German wound badge in silver or 2nd class awarded for being wounded three or four times, or suffering loss of a hand, foot or eye facial disfigurement or brain damage caused in action with the enemy. A good WW2 early issue of the German War Merit Cross with swords for combatants. Awarded to soldiers for exceptional service "not in direct connection with combat". Recipients had to win this grade of the award before being awarded the first-class medal.
