Group 5 to Philips FRC & Church Army.
A superb WW1 group mounted for wearing awarded to Laud L Philips who served with the Church Army, French Red Cross and later the British Red Cross. The group comprises of British war medal correctly named to M L Philips. French Victory medal, French Red Cross medal for aid to war wounded, French medal for service in the Great War and French Red Cross medal for aiding military wounded. A rosery and a photograph of maud around the WW1 era. Maud Lee Philips of the Church Army served with the French Red Cross from September 1914 at the CA Hospital Caen. She was later transferred to the British Red Cross from April 1918 and served in France until July 1919.
To be honest research has been difficult on Miss Philips, I believe she lived in Checkley, Staffordshire. Her father Edward was a Clergyman of Heybridge. Research included is Imperial war museum list confirming above, medal roll for the BWM. Confirming Church army. Medal index card stating service in France from April 1918 and a couple of newspaper cutting for charitable services.
All medals are in good condition and unpolished.
