Antique Brass Section of a Ships Log
This interesting looking solid brass item forms part of a ‘ships log’ the instrument used to measure Knot speed when the vessel is in motion, what it does is a bit of a mystery, the pointer in the middle of the disc rotates and the cork protected bit at the bottom spins, the only mark on the piece is the number 12, it measures 11 inches long and is quite heavy. read more
