Awarded to members of Volunteer Forces in recognition of 20 years of service in the ranks. This one is correctly named to 4010 Private J Meek of the 3rd Volunteer battalion Norfolk regiment.
This unit was formed as a volunteer battalion in 1861 and later became the 3rd Volunteer Battalion in 1883. In 1908 it was retitled as the 3rd (Reserve) Battalion, Norfolk Regiment.
