A bi-metal badge with brass voided centre. A piece of red cloth was worn behind for the 1st battalion and mid-green for the 2nd battalion. This is a nice old badge which has a lovely untouched tone and patination.

A WW2 German War Merit Medal or Kriegsverdienstmedaille was awarded to recognize outstanding service by civilians in relation to the war effort. It was instituted on 19th August 1940 and was awarded only to Germans and non-German’s men and women civilians and those of the Civil Defense.
