M1866 French Chasspot Sword Bayonet.

The French Yataghan sword bayonet for use on the M1866 Chassepot needle-fire rifle. This one is in good order with brass hilt with working catch and steel hooked quillon, which is numbered 90671. It has a good long slightly curved blade marked on the back for D'armes de Saint-Étienne and dated 1870. The blade has some dark staining and light pitting in small areas. Scarce Hungarian Southern Hungary Liberation Medal.

A zinc alloy medal instituted on 11th April 1941 to mark the annexation of Bacska and Baranya areas to Hungary these Provinces had been ceded to Yugoslavia after the end of WW1. Awarded following the participation of the Hungarian forces in the German-led Axis invasion of Yugoslavia. This one is in excellent condition but on the wrong ribbon, the ribbon should be yellow and Blue.  read more
