1821 Pattern Light Cavalry Troopers / Artillery Officers Sword.
A nice old untouched sword, very minty and covered with years of patination. I am calling this a Light Cavalry troopers’ sword because there is no evidence of etching on the blade, or makers mark, but it could have been an Artillery officer’s or NCO’s sword without the finery. The only distinguishing mark it has is the proof button for Charles Reeves of London. It has no scabbard, but the hilt is complete with Ray skin grip bound with wire, this is all sound. The guard has some of its original plating left but there has been some pitting and darkening to the surface. The slightly curved blade has an even dark patina with some light pitting.
It could all be cleaned back, but I fell this would be a shame, as it has never been touched and it has a certain charm. It measures 41 inches long.
