WW2 Era British 20MM Oerlikon O.e.Z Brass Shell Case
This WW2 dated 1942 shell case was made at Radway Green and is marked accordingly on the base along with the mark of O.e.Z. which shows that it was filled with a Nitrocellulose propellant, below is a brief history for the Oerlikon gun, this example comes in very good condition for its age and stands approx. 7 inches long.
Originally designed for the 20mm Oerlikon gun and other 20mm automatic cannons, these casings were widely used by both British and American forces during WW2. The 20mm Oerlikon gun, a highly effective anti-aircraft and ship defence weapon, played a crucial role in the air and naval battles.
