This is a nicely detailed wood plaque bearing the King’s crown with the George VI cypher and is the badge for the Royal Engineers with their Latin motto included. Vintage Royal Navy Embroidered Silk Sweetheart Handkerchief

A pretty silk handkerchief probably dating from WW2 or just later, it has the embroidered emblem for the Royal Navy to one section, the edge is trimmed with pink lace but unusually it has a little pocket in one corner housing an attached powder puff, so a ‘two in one’ gift for a forces sweetheart, measuring 9.5 inches x 9.5 it comes in lovely condition.  read more

By Alcoso pattern number 119, it has a cast white metal hilt which was probably originally plated with eagle langet to one side and cartouche langet to the other.
