A very good quality WW1 issue Iron Cross. Typical silver frame with a magnetic core and large type suspender ring. The ring is marked with the IVI makers mark, which unfortunately remains unknown.

The requirements to receive a cross was both, parents and children are of German blood, the mother is worthy, and the children are born alive. The bronze cross was awarded for 4 children.

WW1 German Mess Tin Unit Marked.

The early wartime 1910 pattern German mess tin, outer tin only. A nice early piece on its own, but this one is unit marked for the 3rd Eskadron (squadron) 15th Uhlan Regiment, the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Ulanen-Regiment. Makers stamp on the back ‘H A Schmidt of Wurzen. In very good condition, signs of use and wear.  read more

WW1 Gold for Iron Medal.

The Gold for Iron medal was a patriotic commemorative medallion issued by Germany in 1916. It was given to civilians on the home front who donated their gold jewellery and coins to fund the war effort. 1933 Bronze Youth Sports Shield.

A solid bronze shield given as a 3rd prize at the 1933 Youth Sports Week. The OHFK was one of the most successful sports clubs in Germany especially for producing world-class track and field athletes, many of which competed in the 1936 Olympics. The 1933 event may have been a qualifier for the upcoming Olympics hosted by Germany. It is in excellent condition and measures 1.5 x 2.5 inches.  read more
